Privacy
The short version: we collect the minimum data needed to run pools, we don't sell anything, and you can disconnect at any time.
1. What we collect
When you join the waitlist we keep your email, handle, the role you picked, and the pool you said you were interested in. When you eventually create a pool entry we keep a record of that entry and its outcome. When you connect Strava we keep the activity fields needed to check your pool target — activity type, distance, timestamps, GPS quality flag — and nothing more.
We do not store your Strava route polylines, heart rate, sleep, recovery, or any other Strava field beyond what the pool settlement requires.
2. What we do with it
We use your data to operate pools you join, run the proof layer, settle results, communicate with you about your entries, and improve the platform. Pool entries and outcomes are public on the leaderboard. Side-bet markets on your entry are public only if you opted in.
3. What we don't do
We don't sell your data. We don't share it with advertisers or data brokers. We don't run analytics or marketing trackers on the public site at launch. If we add any of these later, we'll surface that change clearly.
4. Strava connection
Strava is connected via OAuth. You grant STAKELANE read access to specific activity scopes. You can revoke that connection from your Strava account at any time. Once revoked, we stop reading new activities; existing pool history stays so settled results remain consistent.
5. Retention
Waitlist entries are kept until launch and for a reasonable period after, unless you ask us to delete them earlier. Pool entries and side-bet records are kept as long as the platform operates, because they form the public ledger of past pools and their settlements.
6. Your rights
You can ask for a copy of the data we hold on you. You can ask us to correct it. You can ask us to delete waitlist or account records (pool ledger entries may need to remain for audit reasons). Reach us through the waitlist form for now; direct channels will be published before launch.
7. Children
STAKELANE is not for anyone under 18. We don't knowingly collect data from minors. If you believe a minor has signed up, contact us and we'll remove the record.
8. Security
We protect your data with standard industry safeguards. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach occurs that affects you, we'll notify you promptly and explain what happened.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy over time. Material changes will be surfaced on the site and emailed to active users.
