Terms of service

1. What STAKELANE is

STAKELANE runs pool challenges based on fitness activity. You pay an entry fee to join a pool with a fixed goal (e.g., 7,000 steps a day for a month). At the end of the pool, people who hit the goal split the entry fees of people who did not, minus a platform fee. Side-bet markets layer on top: with consent, others can place YES/NO wagers on whether a specific participant will finish.

2. Who can use STAKELANE

You must be at least 18 years old to join a pool, place a side bet, or open an account. You are responsible for confirming that pool participation and side betting are permitted in your jurisdiction. If they are not, do not use the platform. We may restrict access by region.

3. Pool rules are locked at start

Once a pool opens, its goal, target rule, entry fee, dates, platform fee, and floor pot do not change. Before the pool starts you can cancel and receive a full refund. After the pool starts the entry is committed; there are no refunds for missed activity, partial progress, or change of mind.

4. Your data and proof

To participate you must connect a supported activity source (currently Strava). Your activities feed the pool's settlement check. You agree not to log, edit, fabricate, or otherwise tamper with activity data. We reserve the right to flag, hold, or reject activities through our anti-cheat process described in the docs.

5. Disputes

Any participant with stake in a pool can open a dispute during the 48-hour dispute window after the audit pass. Disputes require a small bond which is returned on a valid claim and forfeited on an abusive one. Reviewer decisions are final for the cycle. The system is designed so settlements cannot be reversed once funds move.

6. Platform fee

We take a 5% fee from the losing side of every pool and every side-bet market. This fee covers operations, the proof layer, and the platform-guaranteed minimum pot. The fee is shown on every pool and market at the point of joining.

7. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate an account that we believe is engaged in fraud, abuse, or coordinated manipulation. If your account is terminated, active entries and side bets will be reviewed case by case; legitimate stakes will be refunded where appropriate.

8. No warranty

STAKELANE is provided as is. We do our best to keep the platform running and the proof layer honest, but we don't guarantee uninterrupted service, perfect anti-cheat, or specific outcomes. Use the platform at your own risk.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms over time. If we make a material change, we'll surface it on the site and notify active users. Continued use after the update means you accept the new terms.
